Since there was an offer to meet with them in the near future with the White House connection for Federal Help.
Rick Heizman will work with Mary Nicely and get some facts to follow up with her and will report back to BODs to set the time frame for detail action items discussion.
Some of the short-term plans of BYA were put back for the next meeting agenda due to the time constrain.
The following items were discussed
BYA – Internal Document Organization: Document control committee was formed as four people for now who can access to make changes and update; Ma Thin Wit Yee, Ko Kyaw Kyaw Soe, Ko Wai Phyo and Ko Kyaw Min Oo. These BODs will maintain and implement some additional information on all the BYA documents.

During the discussion many of the BODs expressed their concern and interest with helping to grow the prospect of B(M)CCFR action plan. Ko Kyaw Min also offered his role in B(M)CCFR as Chairman if needed. BYA is implementing as leading committee to work with the community leaders in the bay area. He does not want to impose the idea of BYA being lack of coordinate with other community leaders to work in the near future. In general, BYA does play a major role in this process of having the first Burma American Community Center.
Moreover, Ko Wai Phyo suggested that in order to get more of the community to get involved, we had to have a plan for next year event that will not only help fundraiser for B(M)CCFR but also a huge drawing community event that many community leaders in the BAY AREA can also participate for the event known as “Bay Area Burmese New Year Water Festival.” The event and regarding issues was discussed, voted and approved by the BODs and BYA members in the meeting. Many of the BODs and meeting attendees actively involved in the discussion and hope to have a better outcome on the following meeting date where Ko Kyaw Min Oo will send out a meeting invitation letter to the community for the upcoming B(M)CCFR meeting on Saturday, October 29, 2011
State filling process is done and BYA will have a nonprofit organization status soon. It is also important to have it done before the end of the year.
Due to the insufficient time to go over detail and the discussion will carry out on Saturday, October 15, 2011 to help speed up with Federal filing process.
